| 【About Haga JHS】 Haga Junior High School is located in the town of Haga, Tochigi-prefecture. The school was founded in 1970 as the amalgamation of three separate junior high schools. From Monday through Friday, students attend lessons in a range of subjects which include Japanese, social studies, math, science, English, music, art, physical education, and domestic science. The school is also equipped with a number of facilities for extracurricular activities. Such facilities include a swimming pool, archery field, soccer field, baseball diamond, gymnasium, judo training room and etc. In addition, Haga-town’s gymnasium, tennis courts, and indoor swimming pool are located very near to the school and are easily accessible for student use. |

| 【Club Activities】 Almost all students at Haga JHS take part in club activities. Each student chooses one club to participate in. Students attend club activities everyday after school, and sometimes prior to school, on Sundays, as well as throughout summer vacation. Students participate in a variety of tournaments with other schools. A number of clubs have done quite well, competing at the prefectural and nation-wide levels. Currently, Haga JHS’s clubs include: soccer, baseball, soft tennis, table tennis, basketball, kyudo, judo, kendo, volleyball, brass band, art, chorus, and ekiden |

| 【about Haga Town】 Haga-town is located in Tochigi-prefecture and is about 120km north of Tokyo. It has a population of about 16900 spread out over its 70 km2 area. Haga is located in a primarily agricultural area, with numerous rice fields, and is also known for its pear and strawberry exports. |
